Current Students
We’d like for you to meet our current flight students. They could all use your prayers for continued safe flight as they grow in their craft and for financial grace as they invest in the future of their ministry work in aviation.
MATT DILLON
Private Pilot Student: Post-Solo
Matt and his wife Kim have recently moved to Texas in 2010 so that he could join WfC as a student while she attends the Baylor School of Music Master’s Program. Matt also works as an assistant engineer at RAM Aircraft in Waco. Matt began his lessons in June of 2010 and enjoys the time he spends training after work. Matt and Kim plan to work in mission aviation soon after Kim graduates from Baylor.
PASTOR RICK COBB
Advanced Student: Instrument Rating
Pastor Rick earned his Private Pilot ticket with us in June of 2010 and is now building cross country time in his Cessna 172 towards earning his IFR rating. His wife of 33 years, Gloria, works with infants at Bosqueville ISD and is Rick’s partner in ministry. They plan to use aviation to expedite their work mentoring pastors of small church plants in Texas and other neighboring states.
KELLY FILGO
Advanced Student: Instrument Rating
Kelly earned his Private Pilot certificate in September of 2009 and has been focused on developing his Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate that he received from TSTC in May of 2009, by working at L3 Communications in Waco as a structures mechanic. Married in 2009 to Ellen, who is on faculty at Baylor and volunteers for Wings for Christ as our website designer, Kelly is also our Development Director and is in charge of developing our financial and human resources at Wings for Christ. Kelly would like to continue that work and earn his Instructor rating and teach students at WfC.
