Pastor Ken Stone Mission to South Texas

WFC responded to transport Pastor Ken to Laredo, TX. Monte was able to once again borrow Gloryland Ministries Mooney and fly a time and energy saving trip for Missions. This trip was to aid Pastor Ken and his East Texas Baptist Associational outreach efforts in South Texas. He met with the Area Missionaries and others in planning and survey efforts for future ministry projects. Additionally, Pastor Ken was able to present his Pioneer Evangelism model in the Associational meeting in Uvalde, TX. All this was accomplished on a Thursday and Friday and we were able to deliver Ken back home Saturday evening well in time for him to prepare his message for Sunday morning service at 1st Baptist Church, Clayton, TX.! Another successful "textbook" mission accomplished!

6/2-9/06

New Orleans Operation Door Knocker and Transport Mission for Dr. Dave Remedios.

WFC Missions Minister Monte Michael and Gloryland Ministry Director Ron Snyder don their Victim Relief Ministries yellow Chaplain and first responder uniforms and are deployed to New Orleans, La to provide manpower for Chaplain led "Operation Door Knocker." This is a finishing effort on the "missing" list of 207 names still on the books at the National Family Find call center in Baton Rouge, La. We are assigned last known addresses of missing persons in the New Orleans area. Ron is given some real world IFR training on the way over from Wings For Christ, as we have to make a zigzag route to avoid multiple thunderstorms in route. Mercy Bird, the trusty Mooney provided by Gloryland, does a great job once again. Once there, we join several other VRM chaplains including Director Gene Grounds in a cooperative effort with New Orleans Fire Dept. personnel as we literally go up to the residences of the missing (or what's left of the homes) and knock on the door, talk to neighbors, and generally do all we can to establish any information as to their whereabouts. This effort had high level support including a visit and invocation by Bishop T. D. Jakes of Dallas Potters House church. Bishop Jakes serves as co-chair on the Presidential Commission on Hurricane Relief of Presidents Bush and Clinton. During this one day event on a Saturday, we found 50 + people alive and well!! Most were in other parts of the country as revealed by our "detective work!" What a thrilling, ministerial led, cooperative effort with federal, state, and city officials welcoming us in this work! Monte took Ron back after the search and then turned back to Alexandria, La. for another Pastor Transport mission. Dr. Dave Remedios M.D. and pastor of Trinity Christian Center, called on WFC to get him to Monroe, La. for a preaching event. This mission was accomplished with time and energy savings enabling Dr. Dave to be able to be in surgery on time the next morning back in Alexandria! Monte was able to return to New Orleans for the balance of the week and assisted Victim Relief Ministries as a Chaplain in Operation Door Knocker. Glory to Almighty GOD!!

On the return trip Monte dropped into Lake Charles, La. and was able to take in a Cody Leger revival night! Brother Danny and Sister Lynn Leger assist their son Cody as he brings powerful words of healing and salvation to the hurting and lost. Monte was blessed to stay in the home of ministry friends Steve and Barbara Thibideaux; thanks guys! What a blessed and effective week of ministry and transportation assistance. Thank you God!!

6/28/06 Victim Relief Minister/ Founder Gene Grounds

WFC is dispatched to Baton Rouge for a same day turnaround transport of our friend and ministry partner Gene Grounds to Mesquite, TX. The logistics and time saving is very valuable to VRM. Thanks again to Ron and Sue Snyder of Gloryland Ministries for the use of their efficient cross-country machine, the venerable Mercy Bird, Mooney aircraft!

7/24-26/06 Louisiana Outpouring Revival in Thibidaux, La.

WFC is called on to Alexandria and Thibidaux, La to transport men on God to preaching engagements at Nickle State University where revival meetings are held in the campus theatre facility. Pastor Dave Remedios M.D. and Argentinean Pastor Sergio Scataglini are holding the 13th statewide meeting of the Outpouring since 2003 and are preaching Salvation, Holiness and the Baptism in Fire that only Jesus can do! Many have been Saved, Healed and Delivered in these meetings in a supernatural way as they encourage an intimacy and abandon to Jesus in power packed events. Monte was blessed to assist in this ministry and aid in time and energy saving transportation in the Gloryland Mooney!!

7/30/06 Pastor John Rambeau trip.

Waco Christian Fellowship Pastor John Rambeau calls on WFC for transport to Branson, Mo. to assist in youth group ministry. Gloryland Mercy Bird performs wonderfully as usual!

8/7/06 Ministry to the Steve Huisman Family in Arkansas.

This past June Wings for Christ lost one of our own. Steve Huisman, pilot and aviation mechanic served as a volunteer in our maintenance needs around 10 years ago. He and his wife Sonja have served in Mission Aviation in Florida with Agape Flights into Haiti. Steve was flying for the State of Florida in fruit fly eradication when his twin-engine aircraft had mechanical problems and crashed, killing him and severely injuring his co-pilot. Steve went home to Jesus leaving behind four small children and a wife of twelve years. We at Wings for Christ are deeply saddened by this loss and are praying for the Huisman family. Monte was able to fly to Hot Springs, Ark. along with WFC friend Jeff Harper for the internment service at Steve's parent' hometown cemetery. We were met by WFC friend and volunteer Don Birchum who drove us to the service. We were heartened by the strength and hope of the family as we grieved together, prayed together and praised God together for this precious, vital man of God that wanted only to glorify his Heavenly Father with his zeal for Mission Aviation. Steve, you will be sorely missed, but our joy will be complete when we see you again on those streets of gold!!

8/22-24/06 WFC teams up with the BEAN MAN!

Rick Caywood of Chijuajuan Connection Ministries (feeding hungry mouths and hearts) invited Monte to ride with him in the big 18-wheeler semi rig down to South Texas to help offload 30,000 pounds of frijoles! This operation took place in their warehouse that Ricks truck-driving buddy Jim and Patty Richards operate for CHICO in Edinburg, TX. What a blessing as we found out that Rick had a working forklift!! Monte was able to introduce Rick and Patty to ministry friend and former WFC graduate, Pastor Max Boggs of World Harvest Training Center as they may be starting a food pantry soon too!! Monte was also able to help work on Pastor Max's Geronimo twin-engine aircraft. WFC has used this sturdy plane on previous missions and Pastor Max is making it available for Monte to get his Multi-engine instructor rating as time and scheduling and finances permit!! A great time of refreshing and strengthening of relationships was had by all.
