Mission Activities by Rev. Monte E. Michael, Missions Coordination Minister/ Chief Pilot. January 2008 09-07-07 Wings for Christ welcomes Kelly Filgo as a new private pilot student. Kelly, an airplane and powerplant mechanic student at TSTC waco, is an aspiring minister with church staff experience in computers. He and his family are believing God to start a evangelical outreach in Puerto Vijarta Mexico. Welcome Kelly! First lesson today! Uh oh! Cylinder problems in our 1964 cessna C-150. Lessson aborted. Maint. Chief Joel New puts Gracie down for repair and annual. Sorry Kelly! Lord, we need new airplanes! 09-10-07 Lindsey Snyder needs our prayers! 14 yr. old Lindsey, daughter of Ron and Sue Snyder, longtime partners with Wings For Christ, underwent painful abdominal surgery today and will have to have more surgical work done in December. Lets believe God for complete restoration. 09-10 & 11-07 Homeland Security training - Monte is honored to be selected by Victim Relief Chaplains to attend a Threat and Risk Assessment course hosted by Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. This training is a "first responder" awareness sponsored by the Dept. of Homeland Security in order to better prepare emergency service personel. Wings For Christ has become a volunteer ministry partner with Victim Relief Ministries in emergency response transportation and chaplain work. This advanced training further assists that mission. 09-15-07 Monte renews CFI credentials. 09-21-07 Rick Caywood helps Monte renew IFR currency in Mercy Bird. Thanks, Rick, for being my safety pilot while I'm "under the hood"! 09-27 thru 10-4/07 Monte's mom, Julia Ann Michael had a heart attack during these days and thankfully she suffered minimal damage to her heart. She had two "stents" put in to unclog arteries and the procedures were successful! Thanks for all the prayers! 10-19-07 Ministry & Care at the time of Death, Disaster and Suicide - Monte receives further training in the chaplaincy work partnership with the Victim Chaplain and Counselor Association. 10-26 & 27-07 WFC attends Reklaw annual fly-in. Joel New, Monte and Sandra Michael fly in to Reklaw, Tx, near Palestine, to attend the greatest grass strip flyin in Texas! Camping out in the East Texas Piney Woods, we set up our WFC informational booth and hand out WFC brocheres and information. Answering questions and watching airplanes is a real weekend treat! 10-26-07 Wayne Majors Homegoing to Jesus - WFC operational director Michael Majors had a traumatic loss this weekend as his Dad Wayne was fatally injured in an accident at his Tyler, Tx home. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Majors family during this season of loss and sorrow. We love you folks so much. WFC dispatches Monte to Tyler to visit the Majors family and on Monday the 29th Joel New and Monte fly Mercy Bird in to Tyler to attend the memorial service. Retired from Zales Jewelry corporate executive staff, Mr. Majors was a loving and caring husband, dad, grandfather and friend to many in his church and community. The legacy of faith, fidelity, and Christian compassion is in much evidence in the Majors family. Please keep this family in your prayers. 11-09-07 Bronstein and Michael family tragedy - Monte's daughter Ruth, son Robert and two friends Racquel and Kate were traveling from Waco to Franklin on a Friday nite to see Isaac Michael play his district championship football game. They never arrived. An accident occurred and Ruths Baylor classmate Kate Bronstein was injured critically. Later, on 11-14-07, Kate went home to Jesus. This is yet another of those times we have to hold onto or rather be held on to by the Lord. Please pray for the Bronstein family during this season of grief and loss. Please keep Ruthy in your prayers. 11-14-07 Wings For Christ is featured at First Baptist Woodway Missions emphasis nite. 11-19-07 Kate Bronstein memorial service at First Baptist Church, Spring, Tx. A memorial scholarship fund had been established at Baylor University in Kate's name. 12-03-07 WFC obtains an Airplane Project! Wings maintenance Chief Joel New finds a 1975 C172 in Kennedy, Tx. The only problem?....some assembly required. However, as Joel explains, our $20,000 investment will produce a two fold value and we'll have a great instrument trainer that can also be used for 3 man missions!! Thank you Jesus!! Oh, by the way, that does clean out our bank account; just so you know!! 12-04-07 Texas Homeland Security Conference, San Antonio, Texas Wings For Christ was invited to attend this annual conference as a volunteer chaplain with Victim Relief Ministries. WFC missions minister Monte Michael is introduced as Disaster Response Operations Section Chief for Victim Relief Chaplains. 12-06-07 Monte has FAA Flight Review with Missionary and Flight Instructor Kelly Hein of Rio Grande Missionary Help in Laredo, Tx. The Lord blessed Kelly and the Family Baptist Rio Grande Church with a Cessna 340! This high performance light twin engine aircraft has been a long time coming for Kelly and their ministry...21 years!! He and Pastor Bill Waldrip have been sowing and reaping in Laredo and Mexico for souls and Jesus has blessed them for their faithfulness and hard work! Kelly and the Mission gratiously blessed Monte with the required 1 hr. flight to renew pilot privileges for the next 2 years. Thanks Guys. 12-08-07 Wings For Christ Christmas Party - A Pot Blessing was held at the WFC Worship Center and HQ this Sat. evening. A good time was had by all....Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and presence thru 2007. What does 2008 hold for us? Romans 8:28 says He works all things for good for those that love Him and are called according to His purposes. HE DOES ALL THINGS WELL. HE IS GOOD; HE IS GOOD; HE IS GOOD!!!!!!
