Mission Activities by Rev. Monte E. Michael, Missions Coordination Minister/ Chief Pilot. January 2007 01-02-07 Mission to Saltillo, Mexico declined Galeana missionary Glenn Weid calls for transportation help for 2 Aid workers to be flown into Saltillo, Mexico to help in his annual Doctors/ Medical campaign. Unfortunately, Monte has to decline service once again as we have no available mission aircraft. Glorylands Mooney is down for maintenance, and there are no other aircraft available at this time. 01-10-07 Prayer with Highland Baptist Pastor WFC Volunteer and CFI Russell Vanhoozer joins Monte to visit Barry Camp of Highland Baptist Church. We have prayer and talk about support strategy for WFC. We are encouraged by this meeting. Thank you Lord for Highland Baptist, Waco, TX. and their commitment to Missions outside the 4 walls of the church! New student accepted at WFC Jeff Gillum makes application to WFC and we are thrilled to receive him into WFC as a new flight student. Jeff has business overseas and is a minister who is obeying Gods call to obtain the tool of aviation. His calling and dedication are refreshing! Welcome Jeff! Thru 24-07 WFC responds to OK Ice Disaster Victim Relief Chaplains call out Monte to come to McAlester and Grove, OK. to perform duties as a Chaplain to the thousands who have been without power and hot meals since the storm hit on the 12th of this month. Spiritual and emotional care are the mission of VRM Chaplains as Monte drives and prays along the way up to OK. Starting out with a Chain Saw crew from New Mexico Monte is given a chainsaw and goes to work clearing trees first then praying and ministering to the homeowners of McAlester. Later in the week Monte is attached to the TX Baptist Mens Feeding Unit in Grove, OK. to be their Chaplain as they crank out thousands of hot meals for the areas cold and hungry. This feeding unit is capable of turning out 30,000 meals a day if needed! 01-25,26-07 Christian Wings For The World After standing down from Chaplain duties in OK, WFC dispatches Monte to Ironton, MO. to re-establish fellowship and ministry partnership with Brother Lionel and Sara Smith, founders of Christian Wings for The World. You may recall that approx. 2 years ago WFC went to Springfield, IL. to help Lionel and CWW tear down some old tee hangers there for import to CWW HQ in Ironton, MO. Well, the Lord has kept us on each others hearts since then with a view toward, "how can we help each other?" CWW has a rich history of training missionary bush pilots with the special skills required in the remote and challenging reaches of third world countries where "this gospel" is preached. Brother Lionel is a 12000+ hr. commercial pilot and holds CFII, MEI ratings and has trained pilots that have gone on to Mission Aviation Fellowship, New Tribes Missions and others. Lionel is also an accomplished A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization from the FAA. He rebuilds A/C for Mission purposes. We prayed and communicated a renewed commitment to partner in our similar goals. 01-28-07 Highland Baptist Mission Sunday Highland Baptist invites WFC to participate with all the other missions they support in a Missions Emphasis Weekend. WFC Board Members Phil and Cheryl Hull assist Monte and Sandra Michael in manning our "booth" at Highland where we are able to answer questions and share in what the Lord is doing thru WFC. What a Blessing as Pastor Barry Camp and Mark Wible lead the church in praying over all the represented missions of Highland Baptist. While there we are blessed to be reunited for a season with Brad and Christian Westom of Mission Aviation Fellowship. Brad was WFC mission minister and chief pilot in the late 80's and was Monte's first flight instructor at WFC, challenging Monte to continue in Mission Aviation. Thanks Brad! WFC speaks, "Blessings and Shalom" to you and yours as you enjoy your 6 month furlough home from Lesotho, Africa! |
