Thank You Highland Baptist for your continued love, prayer and support.

2/27-3/6/06 - WFC deployed Monte and Ron to New Orleans to assist Victim Relief Ministries in Chaplain Service in the 9th Ward area of N.O. While there, we assisted the Medical Examiners office of the state of Louisiana in the human remains recovery operations. Dr. Gitaldi, the Chief Medical Examiner for the state executed a Memorandum of understanding establishing Victim Relief Ministries as the Faith Based ministry for the state of Louisiana for spiritual and emotional care of hurricane victims and their families. We at Wings For Christ are privileged to be included in this vital ministry in our nations worst natural disaster. The suffering of family members looking for loved ones continues. Much prayer and family support was accomplished during this week of service. Gloryland ministry's Mercy Bird (the Mooney) did a great job as usual. Thanks Ron and Sue Snyder!3/7-8/06 - WFC is called on to assist Pastor Ken Stone of Carthage, TX. Monte flies him down to South Texas for him to put on his Pioneer Evangelism conference and network with other area missionaries such as WFC ministry partners Rick and Kim Hall of Laredo Stepping Stones. LSS is a missionary help center and feeding ministry of great impact in the border area. LSS is a ministry partner with Rick CaywoodÕs Chijuahuan feeding ministry as well. Way to go guys!
3/10/06 - Ron Snyder flew Mercy Bird in support of Lynn Leger's Women of Purim conference in Waco. Ron took several lady "prayer warriors" up over Waco to pray over the region. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, rulers in high places. Way to go Ron!
3/12-14/06 - WFC assists Dave Dover, Baptist Student Ministries director for McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College of Waco. The mission is called Operation Beach Reach in South Padre Island, Texas. The occasion is Spring Break for thousands of college students converging on the island for a week of party gone wild. For 26 yrs, Operation Beach Reach has been a mission of compassion and mercy by various faith based campus organizations (mostly Baptist) to take motivated Christian co-eds to the beaches in 15 passenger church vans and offer free rides to the spring breakers. These free rides come with a "catch" though; for the 10-15 minute ride to the next bar or hotel the beach reachers get to tell the riders about the love and salvation of Jesus and offer to pray with the often times intoxicated riders!! This ministry has resulted in many, many lives being saved both spiritually and sometimes physically. On this trip Monte flew 2 Waco Pastors down to participate and observe this cutting edge ministry. We rode the vans till 3 Am and were able to minister the life change encounter of Jesus right along with Dave and his kids!! Wow!
3/18/06 - Monte makes a hospital visit to a dear WFC ministry partner and we pray the prayer of agreement for total healing for this beloved friend of WFC and Jesus. We love you brother..Lets Go, Lets Go, Lets Go!
3/22/06 - Wings for Christ Mike Majors hosts a noon luncheon at his Waco office for pilots, "wanna be's" and friends of WFC and Jesus! We were all blessed by this fellowship. Thanks Mike!
3/24-4/2/06 - WFC is called up to action again by Victim Relief Ministries Assistant Director John Lay. The mission is to deliver John to Baton Rouge and bring him back to Dallas later in the week. Also, WFC is to aid VRM in its service to FEMA/ANSER to re-inter the remains of loved ones in the Gulf coast area where hurricane floodwaters have disrupted hundreds of above ground tombs in many cemeteries of the area. Aerial survey and transportation of officials is the job task.
Monte once again borrows Ron and Sue Snyder's Mercy Bird, the venerable Mooney to complete this mission. As the reader can see, WFC desperately needs its own mission aircraft; a 6 seat heavy single engine such as a Piper Lance/Saratoga or a Cessna 206 or even a light twin engine Cessna 414 or such would fit the ticket! ---- Please pray and consider how you can help; we have ongoing monthly operational expenses of $4-5000 depending on service requests. (Our finance guy tells me we are in the "red" on this... uh oh!!?) So the addition of a $100,000 aircraft is going to bring great Glory and Honor to our Lord Jesus, soooooo lets do it!! OK? Anyway, back to our reporting. Upon arrival in the Dallas area Monte discovered that the attitude indicator in the Mooney had failed. We were blessed to find a Christian maintenance facility at the Dallas area airport of Mesquite. This facility is called Faith Air and they were very helpful in doing the repair for half their hourly shop rate. Thank You Faith Air! After an uneventful flight in the clouds (it was nice to have good operational equipment in the airplane!) Monte and John Lay of VRM were on site in Baton Rouge. The next day, Sunday, Monte flew fellow Chaplain Bob Barrete the short hop down to New Orleans in order for both to serve in the 9th Ward flood area. Monday and Tuesday Monte served in the Salvation Army Family assistance center on behalf of VRM as a relief Chaplain. This was a wonderful opportunity for personal one on one ministry and prayer and referral. Monte was blessed to be able to serve along side a gifted man of God and Pastor at Large for a California Nazarene church, John Utterback. We were a great team as we loved on and prayed over almost a hundred people in 2 days!! Thank you Jesus!! Wed. the 29th Monte took John Lay back to Dallas. On Thursday upon preflight, Monte discovered a loose alternator bracket on the Mooney so once again Faith Air came to the rescue and performed a quick fix of tightening things down for no charge!! WOW! Monte then made a quick hop over to Arlington airport to pick up Ron Snyder and we winged our way back to New Orleans Lakefront airport for more service to the families of the 9th Ward and the Gulf Coast. The next day WFC was able to facilitate a very important meeting for Dr. David Parks of the Baton Rouge Family Assistance Center for missing persons and community service. This meeting was to occur in Lake Charles, La with area funeral directors and Dr. Gitalde, the State Medical Examiner. The mission was to aid area families and cemeteries with federal funding to re-inter the exposed remains of loved ones in hurricane flood damaged graveyards. Dr. Parks later made many remarks of thanks and gratitude for our timely assistance and service, stating we saved he and John Vickers many long hours of driving. Ron and Monte closed out the week with more 9th Ward service such as praying with and talking to area families, comforting them with snacks and cold water as well as a listening ear. Much tears, but many smiles and thank yous as well. Monte got home on the 2nd in time for his daughter Ruth's 18th birthday. Wow, she has grown up into a beautiful, godly young lady who is getting ready to go to Baylor University this Fall... don't know where all the tuition is going to come from..BUT GOD!!!
4/5-7/06 Monte is pleased to begin ground and flight training with Josh Hillstead of Hillsboro. Josh is youth Pastor at the 1st Pentecostal Church there in Hillsboro and has just completed A&P School at TSTC. His 2 yr plan is to go to Alaska and take over a Church there as Pastor and he will definitely need aviation as a component of his outreach to St. Petersburg area natives and northern gringo's! We also re- instituted Friday morning prayer at 6 or 7 Am depending on when you can get there! Come on out!
4/11/06 - WFC welcomes new student Nathan Bobbett. Nate comes to us from Antioch Community Church of Waco where he directs their school of Missions training. Nate will use his flight training to aid in the spread of the gospel overseas. Monte took Nate on an introductory flight today.
4/13-21/06 - Victim Relief Ministries calls out for help from WFC. A need for a full week of deployment is met, as Monte is able to drive out to New Orleans to serve in a leadership capacity for VRM 9th Ward deployment. This was a ministerial deployment as a VRM Chaplain that held new challenges for Monte. In addition to the remains recovery effort in the 9th Ward, Monte was called on to assist in the re-internment of remains that had been exposed in the historic Merrick cemetery of east New Orleans. Hurricane flooding had toppled above ground tombs in this Civil War era graveyard used by casualties in the battle of New Orleans. Monte helped in removing the remains and carrying it to a newly dug gravesite with the uncle of the 16 yr. old victim. He died 10 yrs. earlier in a "drive by" shooting in downtown N.O. His family needed assistance through chaplain care so Monte performed a re-internment service for the family. Much tears and hugs and prayers were given in Jesus name. Later during the same week Monte was an assistant incident commander to Bob Barrette in the 9th Ward as we provided spiritual and emotional support to N.O. Fire Search and Rescue personnel as well as family members in the recovery of two brothers of the lost in the flood. We found them both within 2 days of each other in the same block of debris. We enjoyed the confidence of all local, state and federal officials in this historic recovery effort. Monte was able to pray with FEMA officials as well as grieving family members during this difficult week. Thank you Lord, that You never leave or forsake us!
4/22/06 - WFC Fajita Fly In! We had about 22 airplanes and over 100 people in attendance as we were able to feed everyone (Thanks Phil and Cheryl Hull!!) and have some exceptional testimonies by Wings For Christ former and currant students. Glenn Weid of Galeana, Mexico shared his ministry report about a recent mission flight he had with Pastor Charles Henry to Charaquero, Mexico. Also currant commercial pilot student Sean Galbraith spoke of his gratitude to WFC for totally underwriting his instrument rating as he is preparing for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)!! Finally, we had the pleasure of hearing from John Lay, Victim Relief Ministries assistant director. He spoke highly of WFC as we have helped in transportation needs and have also had a role to play in direct ministry as well. He told of Chaplain duties carried out by Monte Michael and First Responder/pilot duties performed by Ron Snyder. A good time was had by all.
5/04/06 - National Day of Prayer WFC was able to participate in this years effort with service to approx. 30 prayer intercessors up in the skies above McLennan county and President Bush's Crawford ranch. We were privileged as we interceded for our nation and area. God, heal our land. Thanks to several are in order: Al Hoekstra, Mike Majors, Charles Henry, Cheryl Hull, Mark Owen, and Texas Aero for being our host facility and giving us a fuel discount! Thanks Guys!!
