Newest Activity Report 2004 Mission Activity Report 2005 Activity Report

16 January 2004 - WFC Board member Phil Hull, wife Cheryl and Director of operations Michael Majors came to the home of Monte and Sandra Michael. After prayerful consideration and approval of the Board of Directors of WFC, Monte and Sandra were appointed as Minister and Missionary {Sandra} to WFC with Monte established as the employee directly accountable to the Board. Previous to this official appointment Monte made a flight to McAllen, TX. to pick up Chijuajuan Connection/Rick Caywood ministries truck driver Jim Richards and transport him to Waco, Texas in order for him to drive Rick's truck fresh out of Waco. Jim commented that this aid saved him 5 hours on the road and $160 in travel costs and was very blessed by WFC service. This service was rendered 12, December,, 2003

18 January 2004 - Monte borrowed a C182RG from Steinbeck Bend Aviation LLc. and flew back to McAllen to retrieve Jim Richards for the same purpose with the same time saving results.

26-28 January 2004 - Monte made a ministry survey trip to the Rio Grande Valley area to identify potential service opportunities. This trip yielded quality contacts with Max Boggs, George and Mary Saldivar, John and Janine Caruthers, Edweina Peroni, Pastor Guerrmo, Bob and Mary Clark, Phil and Karen Klassen, Rick and Kim Hall, David and Donna Blanchard, and Danny Cummings.

07 February 2004 - Monte performed ministry flight training to Warrior Heart Minister's John Hall and David Brown. These same services we given on 12, Feb, 2004 and 18, Feb, 2004.

17 February 2004 - Monte borrowed C182 from former student Richard Duncan for ministry flight to Springdale, Ark. Monte delivered Harvest Laborers evangelist Cody Leger and his mom Lynn to serve Bishop and Pleshette Benford of Valley Harvest Ministries in Springdale. All were blessed by the speed and convenience of the aircraft and commented that they were fresh to go to work for the Lord upon their arrival.

21 February 2004 - Monte enlisted the help and aircraft F-33 Bonanza of Orlon Scott to return to Springdale, Ark to retrieve the Legers. This was another successful trip with similar results and comments. The only mar on this day of service was a ground handling/loading mishap in which $280 damage was incurred to the Bonanza. WFC paid for this damage to the satisfaction of the owner.

24 February 2004 - Highland Baptist Church Missions committee met with Monte, Michael Majors, Barbara and Cheryl Hull and voted affirmatively to support WFC with a one time gift of $3000 and a monthly support of $500 to be reviewed every 6 months. Warrior Heart minister and Highland missions committee member and WFC student pilot John Hall were very instrumental in this Vote of Confidence we received from the Lord thru Highland Baptist.

Note; Monte made approx. 5 other trips to and from his home of Franklin to Waco for WFC organizational purposes, Newsletter generation, and A/C maintenance, during the months of Jan. and Feb 2004.

01 March 2004 - Monte visited and ministered in prayer and encouragement to WFC student pilot Ron Snider and his family as their 10 yr old daughter was sick.

12 March 2004 - Monte performed ministry flight training to WFC student pilot Ron Snider in the C150 "Gracie Bird".

15 March 2004 - Monte flew C175 WFC ministry's aircraft to Georgetown, Tx. to get a new turn coordinator purchased by Phil and Cheryl Hull in order to facilitate needed equipment requirements for upcoming ministry flights.

16 March 2004 - Monte flew C175 to Caldwell, Tx. to pick up Evangelists/Pastors John Alonize and Lupe Ybarra and transported them to Edinburg,Tx . Upon a successful flight, saving 5 hours drive time, Monte and the ministers met and coordinated with George and Mary Saldivar of Brownsville,Tx. and drove 10 hours on into Mexico to Tamazunchale, in order to conduct a three day Evangelistic Crusade. Monte helped with logistics and other ministry needs such as assisting in direct ministry of prayer for the attendees and evangelism during the meetings in which over 200 people received Jesus, some receiving miraculous healing and other rededications to the Lord!!! Note; On the evening of his arrival in Edinburg on the 16th Monte was invited to speak at Kingsway institute of linguistic studies in McAllen,Tx. This was a wonderful opportunity to introduce WFC to the missionaries there who were learning Spanish soon to be launched onto the Mission Field of various Christian evangelistic organizations. Monte was blessed by the receipt of $100 Love offering.

22 March 2004 - Monte flew John Alonize and Lupe Ybarra back to Caldwell, Tx. Both the Saldivars and these ministers expressed heartfelt thanks to WFC and Monte and all felt as though Jesus had established another "divine connection" in His "tapestry of love" in regards to ministry partnership. Pastor Lupe and Pastor John are both "bi-vocational" ministers and needed to return back asap to their respective jobs and were very thankful once again for the expeditious transportation.

24 March 2004 - Monte was invited to speak at the Franklin Worship Center, Franklin,Tx. by Pastor Rodney Box. Monte testified to the recent evangelistic efforts of WFC and the wonderful results including a testimony of how he witnessed a mans crossed eyes returning to normal after prayer in Jesus' name, Monte then preached on "the Power of Focus", and as usual, "preached himself happy" {and too long!}

26 March 2004 - Monte was dispatched by WFC partner Jerry Benson to fly C175 to Carthage, Tx to pick up Pastor Ken Stone of 1st Baptist Church, Clayton,Tx., and his wife, Susan. This mission served an evangelistic outreach Ken and his wife teach, called Pioneer Evangelism. This bible study and relationship based plan was to be introduced in Acunia, Mexico-just across the border from Del Rio, Tx. Monte had to fly on instruments for the majority of this trip as the weather was not visual conditions. Stronger, faster and "auto-pilot" equipped aircraft would definitely be better suited to this type of demanding flying but Gods grace was available to save the Stones 7 hours of drive time this day. Once there, these extraordinary ministers were fresh to deliver their effective teaching to 6 Mexican Pastors for quick implementation.

27 March 2004 - Monte delivered Ken and Susan back across the state to their home area of Carthage, Tx. (15 min.drive from the La. Border); with helpful tailwinds Monte was able to get them home in 4 hrs. Once there, Ken invited Monte to spend the night and preach the next Morning at his church.

30 March 2004 - Monte performed ministry aviation training to WFC student pilot Ron Snider in "Gracie Bird" at WFC.

01 April 2004 - Pastor Lupe Ybarra made an emergency call to Monte at 12:30 a.m. His son and music minister of vocals and keyboard, Nathan was having seizures and had stopped breathing 2 times in Del Rio, Tx. where he was receiving treatment for an inoperable brain tumor. Nathan is 22 yrs. old and father to a 2 yr old little boy, Nathan Jr.; the doctors told Pastor Lupe to get there quick. Monte instructed Pastor Lupe and Nathans wife Diana to be at the airport at 1:45 a.m. and at 2 a.m. a medical emergency flight to Del Rio arrived 2.5 hrs. later. Monte accompanied the family to the hospital where thankfully Nathan was alive and starting to regain consciousness. The family was tearfully thankful for the prompt response and time saving effort of the WFC vision. The next evening Monte returned Diana and another family member to Caldwell,Tx. again aiding the logistics of this ministry family.

05 April 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to conduct ministry aviation training for Warrior Heart ministers John Hall and David Brown in C150.

07 April 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to conduct ministry aviation training for John Hall again.

08 April 2004 - Pastor Lupe Ybarra of Caldwells "House of Miracles" church called on WFC again to aid in transportation need to bring his ailing son Nathan home from Del Rio to convalesce with his family. Monte was sad to learn that the earlier seizure activity had left this gifted young man paralyzed on his right side-he walked into the hospital and left in a wheel chair. The reality of satan's devices of destruction had a sobering effect on this mission, however much hope and confidence is still held by the Ybarra family and they refused to be sidelined by this setback. Monte was honored to be able, once again, to fly Pastor Lupe to Del Rio saving him and his family time and money.

12 April 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to perform ministry aviation training for minister David Brown.

Wings For Christ Ministry Report - 6/21/04 Update
Monte E. Michael - Missions Coordination Minister

15 April, 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to train Ron Snyder and David Brown.

16 April, 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to train Ron Snyder.

17 April, 2004 - Monte traveled to McAllen, Tx to retrieve Jim and Patti Richards for Chijuajuan Connection/Rick Caywood ministries. This was Patti’s first flight in small aircraft and she kept her eyes closed the whole trip!! Once again this time saving trip delivered Truckdriver Jim fresh and ready to go on a life giving mission of food delivery to the West Coast via El Paso. Chijuajuan Connection was not able to donate into the fuel requirements this time so we charged it to our Heavenly Father!! Thank you Abba Father AKA DAD!!

19, 20, 21 April 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to perform ministry flight training for John Hall, David Brown and Ron Snyder.

23 April, 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC and commencing at 8AM started soloing the 3 amigoes John  Hall, David Brown and Ron Snyder. Their wives and Rons kids were all there to cheer them on as Monte flew around the airport with them once, ascertaining if they were ready and once convinced,  Monte got out of the small red and white airplane and the 3 amigoes took turns until 27 takeoffs and landings later {about 2 PM} they were all standing around grinning from ear to ear and holding the backs of their shirts high as if to show off the trophy of their triumph over the fields of central Texas that day!! What a day this was! We all prayed and praised the Lord for His grace and protection for these fine men of God as they realized a milestone in their ministry aviation pursuits!!

There was one other notable event this date as Monte and Sandra finalized the donation of N6712E By Monte’s Mother, Mrs. Julia Ann Michael, A Cessna 175 four seat aircraft, to Wings For Christ. Although pledged and pressed into service December, ember of 2003 it was on this date that the paper-work was all completed. Present to receive the transfer of title and the logbooks of “Echo Bird” as we have dubbed her, were Wings For Christ Director of Operations Michael Majors and Boardmember spouse Cheryl Hull. A Red Banner day for WFC indeed! Glory to God!!

26 April, 2004 - Monte flew “Echo Bird” to Waco, Tx and picked up Pastor Vaughn Peak and Administrative Minister Everette Posey of  Victorious Life Assembly of God and flew them to Kansas City, Missouri. Once there, Monte dropped them off to drive their new music minister, Dionne Stafford’s car and U-haul truck back to Texas. Monte’s task was to fly Ms. Stafford and her mother Debra, back to Waco, saving them the 11 hr. drive. Pastor Vaughn said Wings for Christ came to their aid once again saving them precious ministry and logistical time as well as delivering them to K.C. fresh so they could drive back the same day.

What a blessing to help a local Church fulfill its vision in ministry with the addition of this anointed leader of praise and worship.

29 April, 2004 - Monte flew “Echo Bird” To Texas State Technical Institute Airport, Waco, Tx to meet Centex Flying Club director Dan McKee and his students from the Mart,Tx facility of the Texas Youth Commission. These students are “At Risk” youth who have graduated from Dan’s “ground school” and as a culmination of their studies they were treated to a ride in small aircraft. Wings for Christ was pleased to be able to participate and Monte flew 4 young men over central Texas much to their delight!

01 May, 2004 - Monte went with Franklin United Methodist Church volunteers to a training session in Houston,Tx for their U M ARMY summer mission week in Ft. Worth, Tx in JULY . Monte will serve as an adult member of a 5 person high school work group. They will work in need identified neighborhoods painting, building wheelchair ramps etc, all while doing the work in the name and Love of JESUS. Please pray for stamina and safety for this effort.

11-14 May, 2004 - Monte flew c-175 “Echo Bird” to Hobby international airport in Houston to catch a Southwest airline flight to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Once there Monte attended the International Association of Mission Aviation annual conference. This was an extraordinary event for Wings For Christ to participate in as an opportunity to network with the majority of mission aviation organizations in the western hemisphere. Conference sessions included such topics as the new challenges presented in modern times such as terrorism threats to Christian mission; expanding needs for personel and equipment; safety statistics; fuel needs and costs etc.

One of the highlights was the testimony of Gracia Burnham of New Tribes Missions and her ordeal as a hostage to Phillapino Al Quida terrorists in the Phillapines. Her husband was a mission pilot and was killed when  after over a year in captivity Phillipino government soldiers effected a rescue in which Mr. Burnham was a fatality. This was a moving and inspiring session showcasing the Love of Jesus towards all people, even ones enemies.

Monte was able to visit with other mission aviation representatives and share valuable operational experience.

19 May, 2004 - Monte and WFC flight student Ron Snyder flew Harvest Laborer Minister Lynn Leger  from Waco, Tx to Harlingen, Tx to  rendevous with Missionary Mary Saldivar of Vision Cisneros ministries of Tamazunchale, Mexico. Their plan was to deliver a pastors training curriculam to area ministers; this computer based program is being provided by Danny and Lynn Leger and their son Cody, who, although blind is a powerful evangelist WFC has been honored to serve earlier this year. Monte was thrilled to be flying a faster, more capable aircraft this trip—a Mooney M20-F that Ron Snyder and his beautiful wife Sue just recently bought. Their heart was to get into mission aviation and less than a month after their acquisition they generously pressed their aircraft into service. They really are serious about their availability to the Holy Spirit and their Service to our Lord! This donation turned an 8.5 hr. road trip into a 2.5 hr. strength saving flight for “Lynny” as we affectionately call her. That Mooney—What a great cross-country machine! Thanks Ron and Sue!!

21 May, 2004 - Monte flew WFC “Echo Bird” to Waco to provide flight training to WFC Student David Brown. We did a Cross-country flight to Caldwell, Lago Vista and back to Wings. David did a great job.

22 May, 2004 - Monte and his lovely wife Sandra, a gifted minister, flew “Echo Bird” to Waco to fellowship with Rick Caywood and other area ministers. We welcomed the Holy Spirit to come and Bless us with His presence and wow did God show up! Monte was blessed to have his wife share during this time of refreshing among like minded believers.

23 May, 2004 - Once again the “team Michael” took to the airways as Sandra and Monte were invited to come preach at “House of Miracles” church in Navasota, Tx. Pastor Lupe Ybarra and his precious wife Cindy invited WFC to come and share the word in their lively house of worship. Sandra shared the Word of God in power that morning and Monte got to minister also as we saw the word of admonition and encouragement go forth in abundance. Pastor Lupe and the church took the Michael’s out to eat for lunch and that afternoon “Echo Bird” took Sandy and Monte safely home.

24 May, 2004 - Monte flew to WFC to help WFC ministry aviation students John Hall and David Brown with procedures training and standardization.

25 May, 2004 - Monte flew ro WFC and performed flight training with John Hall and Ron Hall in  his Mooney aircraft.

26 May, 2004 - Monte flew to WFC and went on a Cross-Country flight with ministry student and Mooney owner Ron Snyder to Caldwell and Burnett,Tx and once again Ron did a great job.

27 May, 2004 - Ron Snyder and Monte use Ron’s Mooney to fly to Harlingen,Tx to retrieve Lynn Leger from her successful Mexico ministry. Once again WFC is able to help out in tangible, time and energy saving ways to aid delivery of the Gospel and its bearers.

02 June, 2004 - Monte helped Ron Snyder with his Mooney aircraft by delivering new sparkplugs for an engine tune-up by WFC chief of maintenance Joel New. Joel has been phenomenal in his gifted oversight of aircraft maintenance for WFC . Thanks Joel and Beverly New for your valuble contribution to WFC safety and operations.

04 June, 2004 - Monte took “Echo Bird” to Sunrise Beach, Tx near Austin to help Texas Baptist Men representative Tommy Tollett and former student Melvin Hawkins work on a Cessna 180 under restoration. This airplane has been used extensively in past years with Amigos Internationales and the Baptist River Ministry up and down the TX and Mexico border. The C-180 was stationed at WFC in years past and Monte and other WFC  volunteers such as Albert Chrisman put many hours and $ (thanks Albert) into this Mission aircraft. Finally after years of sitting, this bird is getting a top to bottom overhaul it desparately needed. Monte hopes to go down again soon to help our fine Baptist brethren in this worthy project for our Lord Jesus.

05 June, 2004 - Monte traveled to WFC to flight train John Hall in short and soft field Takeoffs and Landings. John the “Britt” snapped it right up!!

13 - 19 June, 2004 -  Summer mission trip with United Methodists Youth Action outreach. Eric and Ruth Michael along with Monte traveled with Franklin United Methodist youth to Ft. Worth, TX to do inner city benevolent work at Meadowbrook United Methodist church and the surrounding neighborhood. Specifically we reached out to the community elderly with the Love of Jesus. This took place by mowing lawns, picking up trash, building wheel chair ramps, painting houses, replacing toilets, talking and visiting with clients and really just showing the love of the Lord. This was a hot week of labor in the sizzle of Texas summer. We had to stay hydrated quite a bit! Many testimonies of hearts being touched came to the forefront. All of us were split up into groups that we didn’t know so it was quite challenging to learn how to work together as all projects were youth led. Monte was just an “Adult member” and van driver.

20 June, 2004 -  Walk to Emmaus Community of the Brazos Valley asked Monte to serve in a ministerial capacity at a “team formation” meeting. This weekend retreat for youth and adults is an interdenominational Lay renewal retreat movement that has great potential for leadership development in the local church. Monte was asked to perform the sacrament of Communion for this preparation meeting. Ruth Michael, Monte’s daughter later went on the weekend retreat where she went from being a “caterpillar” to a “butterfly” and was blessed by the Love of Christ being expressed by folks she really didn’t know.

25 June, 2004 -  First Baptist Church, Clayton, TX, Vacation Bible School director Karen Worsham requested Wings For Christ come to their Friday night closing ceremony to receive the offering from their attending children. Karen had Wings featured as their Mission Emphasis during the whole week. Monte flew Richard Duncan’s C-182 up to Carthage airport in northeast TX and spoke to the children and parents of 1st Baptist Clayton VBS about Mission Aviation and Christian evangelism using light aircraft. Monte was thrilled when the 35 to 40 attending children and their parents gave an offering of over $400 to WFC!! Wow! Thanks God and thank you Karen Worsham, Pastor Ken and Susan Stone!!  Thanks Richard for your selfless donation of your excellent airplane too!!

27 June, 2004 -  Do you remember the April 8 ministry report about Nathan Ybarra? You may recall how he was paralyzed by a brain tumor and how WFC helped in flying his family back and forth to Del Rio to assist. Well we now have an update on this gifted music minister. Nathan’s dad and Pastor, Lupe, called “Air Monte” (as he calls him) on this Sunday afternoon about 3pm. Apparently they were still having Church after having started about 10 am. Why? They were celebrating something miraculous at House of Miracles there in Navasota. Nathan was healed!! Seems that a visiting minister Gustavo and his wife were there ministering the love and healing power of Jesus and they told Nathan that now was the time for his healing if he could focus. Nathan shut out all distractions and chose to receive from Jehovah Rapha our healer. According to Pastor Lupe, Nathan stood up and grew stronger and stronger right before their eyes and then raised his hands and opened the one that had been drawn up in a fist and praised God for healing him! He then went up on stage and began playing the piano again with the hand that was, just moments before, withered and useless!! Glory to God! Pastor Lupe related this to Monte on the phone and in 15 minutes Monte and his son Robert Meier were in the truck on their way to Navasota to witness the power of God and to pray for Robert to receive from Jesus too.

Upon arrival, 50 minutes later, Monte and Robert were met out in front of the church by Nathan and he escorted them into the church, no longer in the wheelchair but walking!! Nathan then stepped up on the stage, walked over to his standing keyboard with Monte watching in total joy, and began playing and singing praise to Our God!! Monte fell to his knees in tears of joy and worship as we all witnessed the power of God to heal and restore!!  We then proceeded to “have church” for another 3 hours or so!! I hope this restores your hope and confidence in the healing power of our God.  On March 31st of this year our enemy paralyzed our brother Nathan and on this day, Jesus destroyed that work of the devil!!! Glory to His Name!!

One young lady was healed from chronic back injury and pain and took off her back brace, touched her toes and walked normally again! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!! Pastor Lupe really blessed Monte and Sandy as he spoke over Wings For Christ and us a blessing saying, “Every soul that gets saved, every person that receives healing or is restored, you are a part of why it happens and share in the fruit and reward of this ministry.” Wow, that’s really phenomenal when you think about it!

They have a vision/goal of planting 100 churches in 5 years. Dennis shares Ron and Sue Snyder’s Mooney airplane. He keeps it 6 weeks and Ron and WFC get it 6 weeks and as Dennis is an Authorized Inspector with the FAA he also performs the required maintenance. Dennis has been thrilled to have the Mooney for the past 6 weeks and bought $2500 of fuel for around 80 hours of ministry flying, out of his own pocket for their work in Oaxaca, Yucatan peninsula and Acapulco, Mexico. Dennis related to Monte that the opportunity for ministry and the time and $ savings using small aircraft is phenomenal in Mexico and a windfall in good stewardship of the Lord’s resources. Monte was blessed to fly Ron’s Mooney into Acapulco with Dennis and go spend the night on the church floor there and hear Dennis preach the next day. Dennis and his wife have a ministry of integrity and fruitfulness there in southern Mexico that Wings For Christ can share in and support as our partnership grows. Wow, thanks Jesus for such a wonderful opportunity to serve you and your Body!

12 August, 2004 -  Traveled to Mexia, TX and met with an old friend who needed help looking for his son. This gentleman will remain anonymous in this entry due to the sensitivity of the subject. Seems his son has been missing for almost a week and the family has filed a missing persons report with law enforcement but the family wanted to search the local county roads from the air. Monte was able to borrow Richard Duncan’s C182 and perform this mission of mercy and help to this distraught family. We were unsuccessful in our attempt but W.J. and his family were thankful for the effort. Our thoughts and prayers remain for you guys. Pray for Gary to be found alive. Other news: Traveled to WFC and took Chico truck driver/missionary Jim Richards home to McAllen, TX. Rick Caywood prayed us off and is very grateful to WFC mission support as he relates it, “this is really timely and very needed”. We love you Rick and it is our honor to help you feed the hungry in Jesus’ Name. Praise the Lord!! Down in McAllen Monte was blessed to see former WFC student and graduate Pastor Max Boggs and was invited to stay the night with he and his sweet wife Linda. Max has been increasing his experience in Albert Chrismans former airplane C150 N8786S and also is partnering with a local pastor Bill in a Geronimo twin-engine aircraft for evangelistic efforts in Mexico!! Way to go pastors….Go get em!!! Pastor Max sowed yet again into our ministry as he beat Monte into the FBO to pay for the avgas to get home to the tune of $88. Wow Max... What a big heart you have!!

28 August, 2004 -  The Brazos Valley Emmaus Community has requested the services of WFC minister Monte Michael to help in the capacity of a clergyman in Fall 2004 Men’s Walk to Emmaus. Monte will serve as an Assistant Spiritual Director for the Oct 14-17 weekend retreat. To that end we had a “team building” meeting on August 14 at Franklin United Methodist Church, Franklin, TX and again on today’s date at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Deanville, TX. These are constructive meetings to learn our roles as leadership for approximately 22 men seeking to deepen their walk with Jesus. I (Monte) am humbly blessed to be able to serve in this Interdenominational model of Renewal and Training.

03 September, 2004 -  Monte traveled to WFC to participate in the 6 a.m. prayer meeting at WFC; what a blessing! Please come if you can. We usually go to the WhataBurger in Bellmead to share breakfast right after we close so the fellowship is rich. Following breakfast today Jerry Dunlap, a fine Christian man who is a flight and mechanic student at TSTC college Waco, and WFC volunteer, came back to WFC with Monte and we flew Ron Snyder’s Mooney for some instrument proficiency time, flying local instrument approaches and such to stay legally current as well as proficient to fly “in the soup” (clouds)!! Thanks Jerry for serving as Monte’s “Safety Pilot”.

08 September, 2004 -  WFC helps sister ministry Christian Wings for the World of Ironton, Mo. This opportunity to serve entailed Monte and College Station minister Jay Kennedy, and Chijuajuan Connection minister Henry Burnhart of Waco flying Ron Snyder’s Mooney up to Springfield, Illinois to meet up with Christian Wings director Lionel Smith and his crew. Once there we proceeded to tear down 3- 50’ by 240’ “tee hangers” to be moved to Ironton for needed aircraft storage. We spent 8 days in the state capitol of Illinois and labored with CWFTW volunteers for long but sweet days of Christian work and fellowship. 20,000 + hr career aviation professional and now minister/flight instructor Lionel Smith works in Cessna aircraft C-170 and C-180 to provide “jungle pilot” training to missionary pilot applicants from all over the world. He and his ministry have supplied pilots to Missionary Aviation Fellowship, New Tribe Mission and others for the past 10 years. Monte was struck with a sense of respect and admiration for this fellow aviation minister and his vision for world evangelism thru the ministry of “Helps” that they and Wings For Christ provides.

It is estimated that our three man “Texas crew” provided $2000 of labor (of Love) to Christian Wings for the World. Praise the Lord!! Monte and crew returned safely to Waco on September 16, 2004.

25 September, 2004 -  Monte traveled to Brenham, TX to serve with another Brazos Valley Emmaus Community team building meeting.

28 September, 2004 -  Monte traveled to Mexia, TX to Fly with Richard Duncan and his C-182 to Waco to pick up Victorious Life Assembly of God Pastor Vaughn Peak and fly him to Oklahoma City for a financial planning conference. This service for a local minister saved him and his ministry many valuable hours on the road. Thanks Richard!

29 September, 2004 -  Dennis Pendergast, our new missionary friend and partner in Ron and Sue Snyder’s Mooney arrived back in Texas after a 24 hr. bus trip from Mexico City. Dennis immediately began inspecting the Mooney for its “Annual” and much to everyone’s dismay discovered a crack in the crankcase. This meant an immediate teardown of the IO 360 A1A engine for a “major” overhaul! Dennis was hoping to complete a quick inspection and return to his ministry with Foursquare Missions in Mexico City and Oaxaca/Yucatan regions of Mexico but alas airplanes do require refurbishing from time to time! Thank you Lord for Dennis’ expertise and eye for safety! Please pray for finances for Ron and Sue as they have made such an investment in WFC missions and Jesus’ work!! Monte traveled to Waco this day to aid in the engine teardown.

01 October, 2004 -  Monte traveled to WFC to help Dennis and Ron on the Mooney, and to participate in the weekly WFC prayer meeting.

09 October, 2004 -  Monte traveled to First United Methodist Church of Bryan to participate in team building for the Walk to Emmaus for the men’s walk #58 to be held later this month. Later that same day Monte traveled to Waco to support long time friend and volunteer mechanic at WFC, Don Birchum in his wedding at Antioch Community Church. Full day but thank you Lord!

10 October, 2004 -  Monte returned to Waco to Assist Joel New on Gracie Bird N3988U. She’s getting close to being up again after 2 months being a “hanger queen” due to bad cylinder, starter, and misc. maintenance issues.

14 - 17 October, 2004 -  Brazos Valley Emmaus Community Men’s walk #58 held at Camp Tejas, Giddings, TX. Monte participated as an Assistant Spiritual Director. What a blessing!

22 October, 2004 -  Monte traveled to WFC to participate in 6 am prayer. We had an unexpected visitor as a young man stumbled out of the darkness into the Worship Center. He said he had been drinking and had a flat on his car and needed to return to Mexia to get to work at 7 am at the Jewett mine. He said he saw that “ the light was on at your house” and he sought out our help. Albert Chrisman loaned him his cell phone to make a phone call to his mom and then we took him into town to buy him a breakfast while he waited on his ride. We tried to show him the Love of Jesus.

Later that day Monte helped Ron Snyder with his Mooney aircraft engine overhaul.

23 October, 2004 -  WFC participated in a “Reunion group” meeting held by the Brazos Valley Emmaus Community Men’s Walk #58 at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, Texas. Monte was pleased to help with the praise and worship at this meaningful gathering of the attendee’s. It was a special time of testimony as to the goodness and love of our God and His power to transform lives. There were 3 testimonies from men who said their wives thought they were different individuals upon their return from the retreat. Thank you Jesus!

24 October, 2004 -  Wings For Christ held a Board meeting in the home of Board members Phil and Cheryl Hull at WFC. We had reports from A/C maint. Chief Joel New that Gracie Bird is close to completion. Albert Chrisman reported on finances that for now we are “holding our own”. Monte Michael reported on Mission and Training activity since our last Bd. Meeting in July. We concluded with plans for future ministry opportunities and planning for a much belated newsletter that will now be undertaken by Cheryl Hull, Sue Snyder and Sandra Michael.

29 October, 2004 -  WFC Prayer meeting was attended well and then Monte and Jerry Benson took to the air to accomplish some proficiency training in Jerry’s twin engine Piper Geronimo. We flew for 1.2 hours culminating out in Teague Municipal Airport where Monte was asked to do the Invocation at the Rededication ceremony for the Airport. State of Texas Dept. of Transportation Aviation Division personnel were on hand to receive thanks and appreciation from Airport Manager Billy Patterson. Also present were Freestone County Judge and County Commissioners as well as Teague city Mayor. All were presented plaques of appreciation by Billy. Monte and Jerry Benson were pleased to provide representation from the Christian aviation community as we all have a vested interest in the success of “grass roots” aviation. Monte provides flight instruction on a part time basis to the Teague airport and the importance and strategic placement of God’s representatives is in evidence in this opportunity. Later this evening Monte provided flight instruction to Brent Boyco who helps in the maintenance on Gracie Bird. Brent is Joel News’s son in law. Brent is a valuable member of the WFC team and we appreciate him.

1 - 5 November, 2004 -  Chijuajuan Connection director Rick Caywood and his driver Henry Burnhart transport Monte down to Edinburg, TX for Monte to hook up with Pastor Max Boggs. Rick and Henry had their ministry business in the Valley and so the logistics were perfect! Monte had been invited to help Pastor Max and Pastor Bill Leyes to help with logistics on a fact-finding flight down to Ciudad Victoria, Mexico. This flight was to investigate the feasibility of bi-weekly support flights for Max’s friend and missionary Jose. Jose is a minister commissioned by Max’s Church, World Harvest Training Center Edinburg TX. Monte was to help fly with Pastor Bill Leyes and Pastor Max in their ministry aircraft, a Piper Geronimo; this entailed proper entry and exit procedures in Mexico and U.S. officials. While in Ciudad Victoria Monte was blessed to minister with Pastor Max and Pastor Bill to the resident Pastor Tony and his wife Fidelia in the Church that Missionary Jose has raised up. Monte was able to help in the ministry of encouragement and admonition to the effect that Pastor Tony and Fidelia make sure they spend enough renewal time for themselves and not “burn out”.

While there we were also blessed to tile Missionary Jose’s bathroom. The return flight was a blessing as Pastors Bill and Max brought Monte all the way back to Hearne, TX where Monte’s sweet red headed wife Sandra was standing by to pick up her husband. Sandra prayed the pastor’s off on their return trip to the valley. They made it safe and sound!!
